But Guarnaschelli's experience in the kitchen began in the early years of watching her mom test numerous recipes at home while making cookbooks. Following her time at Larry Forgione in New York, France and Los Angeles she also worked in Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. Guarnaschelli eventually became the head chef at Butter. Guarnaschelli appeared on the Food Network's Iron Chef America where she faced Cat Cora in the Farmers Market Battle of 2007. Since then, she has been an Iron Chef America judge. She also competed for The Next Iron Chef in season 4 in 2011. In addition, she competed in The Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast episode but was eliminated from the contest. After the fourth season, she was appointed Geoffrey Zakarian's sous-chef. She was the host of The Food Network program The Cooking Loft, with Alex Guarnaschelli. In this show, she instructed a group of students in small groups on how to create new dishes from scratch.
